I know this is probably posted in several separate threads but hoping for some assistance locating link or answer.

Buying a set of RWs for my LX570 and need to know if I must order the splined lug nuts or will ones from tundra TRD non-forged work?

Also for TPMS can I swap from TRD Pro non-forged tundra wheels to RWs or is a different part required? I’m talking about the original TRD pro wheels found on I think pre2019 tundras.

Part numbers appreciated if I do need replacements. Thanks

I think you need to go to an online parts site and plug in some data. When I bought some RWs the TPMS sensors did not work on 2017+ LC or LX. I don't know from what year the wheels were pulled.

The Tundra had a part number change around 2016 - the frequency used was changed. Could be dependent on the year of your LX too.

I never tried, but I think you need new lug nuts as the lug nut opening seemed to have a smaller sloped opening to me than on the stock 200 wheels.

This Installation Sheet from Toyota should get you started with some part numbers, etc. Everyone who runs RW wheels should have this document:

Toyota Installation Sheet for 17" TRD Alloy Wheels

Note: Many of the part numbers have been superceded, but if you search on the ones in the doc it will show the newer parts.

And yes, Tundra TPMS sensors will most probably not work in your LC/LX. And you will need the appropriate splined lug nuts.

You do need the splined lugs, made my mcgard. They have the correct interface angle and critically important, a separate tapered steel insert that can spin independently of the lug body and this prevents the bare aluminum face of the lug seat in the wheel from galling. This is also important for correct clamping force from a given torque value upon tightening.

They don’t have to be the toyota branded ones, are available on Amazon or other sites, can be had in chrome or black chrome. You don’t need the “long” format, just the regular ones.

Also if you buy a set they will include security lugs. It is best to replace these with four standard lugs. The security lugs don’t have the spinning insert and are notorious for the key portion failing.

I’ll try to dig up some examples on Amazon later.

Any appropriate year TPMS transmitter should move from one toyota alloy wheel to another without issue. Toyotas uses two mounting face angles, one for alloy and one for steel. So you should be able to move your TPMS over from old wheels to new.

McGard makes them for Toyota, so just buy the McGards.

Strongly recommend skipping the wheel locks and just buy the extra lugs. Locks break easily snd then you are truly stuck. A professional thief can defeat wheel locks easily, and yet most opportunit thieves don’t have spline adaptors.

I’v e never had a wheel stolen despite outdoor parking for last two decades , but I have been stuck with broken wheel locks and its a real drag.

Mcgard sets of 4 plus a spline adapter are reasonably priced on Amazon and I’ve used them for years.

PS. Skip the locks. ;)

One more thing to clear up possible confusion.. there are about five different TPMS transmitters over the 200 generation, and while they will physically bolt in they may not communicate with the car correctly. So if you are replacing your factory sensors with anything else, even from toyota or Pacific Industries who makes them for toyota, do your research to ensure you end up with transmitters that will work.

That seems to be the confusing part so maybe I should just buy a new set for the LX and not try to reuse the tundra ones.

And the mcgard lugs are actually more than from Toyota.

Wait, are the TPMS sensors actually off a tundra? Or just your old ones put on tundra wheels for your LX?

Tundra sensors will definitely not communicate with your truck. And if you get new sensors you will either need to get low quality Chinese “clone” sensors that pretend to be your original sensors, or high quality toyota/pacific sensors with their own IDs that will need to be programmed into the vehicle. This second process isn’t too difficult if you have the correct tools. But you get a much lower failure rate and they last significantly longer.

I didn’t know that about the pricing, good info. The chrome set is only about 135 on Amazon. I do have the black chrome and after a couple years they have corroded a bit.

I only have the tundra sensors, my LX came with the 22’s and that’s the first thing I got rid of including the original sensors. At least now I know what I need to do.

Well..if you are finding Toyota ones that cheap, then go that route. It’s all the same.

There are multiple installation kits that you can get from Mcgard. You are looking for 14x1.5 / 22mm Hex / 1.68 length. There are kits for 8 lug wheels that would keep you from having to buy a spare set to replace locks.

Either way, I shopped around when buying mine, and ended up getting a “open box” kit of eBay for considerably less than the Toyota kit.

Ah, yeah. Then you’ll need to do the digging to see which model of PI transmitter is appropriate for your model year. Or pony up for OEM sensors from toyota/Lexus.

What're the part numbers for the "regular" lug nuts so I can order 4 of them? TIA!

what do you mean by regular?

The McGard are 65515 for the full set with 4 locks, and 65315 for the 4 pack. Add BK to the end for black. Not sure on the Toyota TRD ones.

The McGard 65815 will work as well if you can find them cheap, but that's a lot more than you need.

The ones without the locks. So I guess the 65315 are what I need?

If you already bought the 65515 set, then the 65315 set will replace the 4 locks with regular lugs.

Tundra tpms aren’t compatible.
Dang.. I just got my RW's with the RW Tundra TPMS sensors thinking they would communicate with my 200..

Anyone have PN's for what would work with a 2011 200? I don't want to remove the ones on my stocks...

Amazon product ASIN B00NQ05U24

These are what I use. Have purchased 10 of these from Amazon for my two sets of wheels. Going on 3 years, all are working well. Do you need lug nuts for the rock warrior wheels?
