I'm coming, couple of dogs and a little camper. I'm pretty new to wheeling-have only done fairly gentle trails (in my now-dead tacoma, never in my current 4runner) looking forward to it!
my brother who wants to come has a Mercedes g-wagon, would a non-toyota be shunned?
Personally, I'm non-denominational when it comes to offroading...but I'm not in charge either ;)

not formally shunned ;)

there's usually a jeep or two that tags along with a friend..so it's not unusual. just gotta do their best not to photobomb too many photos. 97% toyota, so they would stick out slightly. expect a few finger points and what the hell they doing here. shouldn't be a big deal.

we do ask for any non-toyotas to get stuck at least once so we can get a photo of a toyota rescuing them though

won't really be much for him at the raffle either..our sponsors are primarily tailored around the Toyota market.

big thing is to have fun and enjoy yourself out there. at the end of the day, no matter the vehicle, we're all there to do the same thing.

I went last year and had a great time. Plan on going again this year. How do I get shirts? Also any chance I can order two from last year. Thanks.

glad to have returning faces

we're working through final details with the shirt producer and should have a link to order live next week.

To save on shipping costs, we have everything shipped to us and will have ready for pick up at BFE

unfortunately we do not have any extras from prior years. we'll occasionally bring a few extra to BFE with us, but they do not last.

i was thinking that was a new style of ham radio :)

hand helds are fine, usually not as good of range, so you may miss out on chatter...but at least you'll be accessible by those directly in front and behind you...better than nothing

Was doing some math for my trip to what my estimated fuel costs are one way :p, towing this may be on average one of the better fuel savings yet!!! hahahaha but thats yet to be proved. I put my estimated fuel economy towing based on some previous heavy loads

Making progress on the last round of mods for RT. The crawl box and twin stick FJ case are in! Not quite done with the install, but the cases are in their new home.

Hey guys, how's everybody doing? I wanted to do this trip last year but I wasn't able to make it. This year is already coming around. I'm extremely interested but have some concerns. Been having some vibration issues. I changed all u-joints, carrier bearing and even balanced the drive shaft. Still vibrating. Starting to play with the angle, dropping the driveshaft 1/4" at a time. I already have a 1" spacer. This is the only thing holding me back. I have a 09 tacoma 4x4 offroad, 6" procomp lift on 35" tires. I'm wondering if my height might (top heavy) be an issue and clearance with the fenders. This will be my first time out there plus I'm driving from Miami. Plan on meeting up my boy in his fj in Colorado. Im debating on bringing my side-by-side also. What do you guys think, recommend?

No offense, but my first look would be those tires. I've known two people to install them (cause they DO look awesome) and remove them in less than a week because of how they rode and handled.

UTV's are awesome in Moab :)

No offense taken. I've had then for the last 3 years. So i know they are not the problem. So as far as how they drive, feel. I know. It sucks. but that's not the issue im having. I do love the way they look, and the sounds soothes me. Lol

taking them in for a balance would rule them out at least...uneven wear on mud terrains is not uncommon
