that's an interesting take on a rack...can't wait to see it with the tent on it...you going to run a softtopper over it all?
No... wanted the tent to sit low, but have something high to mount my awning to over the tailgate... we'll see how it looks once I get the RTT swapped to the new bases and mounted up (this weekend)

Hi all,

Is this event only for lifted/big tire Tacomas? How would a stock TRD Access cab do?

Thanks,

Alan

Alan, it's open for all Toyotas big and small...that's the beauty about Moab, trails to keep everyone happy

we've had many stock tacomas make it out there in the past....usually by the second time they make it out there, they aren't stock anymore though haha from stock to crawler, you'll see many trucks out there to bounce ideas off of if you were looking into any modifications...

Many places you can go stock... there was an access cab last year that ran Fins n' Things with me
(White one in front of the CBI rig wish I had more pictures of him, but we had a group of about 20 and so the last few rigs before me I didn't get many pictures of)

set the height so you could haul a canoe/kayak or MTB's up there :)

a little sneak peak at the shirt design....

I'm seriously considering this trip! Learned about it from Pelfreybilt through Facebook.

Need to look at whether I can get a week off from work though! And get my CB installed, and perhaps some jerry cans for gas, and a first aid kit, and... Lord knows what else I'll need for a week long camping trip...

Am I ready for this? lol I think it'd be fun though!

Since I'm missing CruiseMoab with the TLCA because of work, I'm interested. Are campfires allowed? I would imagine it'll be hot, are there places to fill up water jugs?

a little more of a t-shirt teaser :)

CB and first aid kit is a good idea. the jerry cans aren't a huge deal unless you feel you need them for the drive down. There's always options to get gas before or after trails in moab. unless you plan to wheel nothing but trails in BFE and the surrounding area, you will pass by a gas station in town every day. which is also good if you need ice refills.

yes there are campfires allowed at BFE. there are fire rings around the camping area. bring your own wood, as there is no cutting allowed on their property. no pallets as the fire pits, over time, will shift locations and we do not want nails left on the ground where everyone drives.

fingers crossed that it's not too hot this year...but it is moab, you never know. with memorial day weekend pushed back further than the past couple years, we were pushed into June on this year.

there are places in town to refill water. GearHeads is one location that has water refills. or pick up some jugs at city market while in town. if you need non-drinking water, mill creek in town would be a good source to fill up a jug if needed. you'd have to make a short hike from the parking area to the creek. or one of the beach pullouts along 128 and use the colorado

apparently there is a natural spring as well...
"Matrimony Springs - Located on the river road (Hwy 128) that is located right off US 191 at the bridge on the northern end of Moab right at the Colorado River. It is a natural spring with water that comes right out of the Mesa. It is just east of HWY 191 (the main street into Moab) on hwy 128 (The colorado river road). Their is a pull off on the right side with a large cliff and a metal pipe coming out. This is where you fill up your water. There will probably be other people here doing the same."

DO IT! you won't regret it! BFE is close enough to run into Moab for something if you forgot. CB and Water jug(5 gal per person) are mandatory, and I HIGHLY suggest at least 1 Jerry Can (2-5gal) and a first aid kit. Check out the first couple posts by NYCO in this thread with what you should be bringing. It's a great list

Along with what Bob said above... You can fill up jugs at City Market for like $1 a gal.

IMPORTANT UPDATE TO THE FIRST PAGE....

hope ya like it ;)

I'm coming, couple of dogs and a little camper. I'm pretty new to wheeling-have only done fairly gentle trails (in my now-dead tacoma, never in my current 4runner) looking forward to it!
my brother who wants to come has a Mercedes g-wagon, would a non-toyota be shunned?
