Tail end of a 4 week road trip with the family. Great time, enjoying the sites of this amazing country. Headed north to Ohio and then Michigan. Always wanted to see the Upper Penisula so we hit that and went over to Wisconsin, then Minnesota and North Dakota where we sepnt the 4th in Fargo and got to enjoy a demolition derby that include combine harvesters, then fireworks! Headed west into Montana and finally into Wyoming and Yellowstone and the Tetons. The furtherest west we went was Craters of the Moon national park in Idaho, before heading down to Utah and Moab.

'First Dirt' was a short trail outside the Tetons. In Moab, I got to run Fins and Things. The family wasn't keen on me trying Hells Revenge, will have to save that for another time. In canyonlands we did the Schaefer trail, which wasn't very technical, but had a lot of tight, steep switchbacks up the canyon walls, with little room for passing vehicles. Then went over to Ouray, Colorado and did Engineer Pass. The mineral springs trails to get up to the pass was more technical than I expected and I received some passing comments of surprise from other vehicles (ATVs and built Jeeps) that were impressed the GX made it through unscathed!
Speaking of unscathed, after almost 7,000 miles, the only issues the GX has given me has been a squeaky rear wheel which turned out to be a worn brake pad. Otherwise it has handled the highways and the trails like a boss.

Update: Got back on Friday. Logged 7,500 miles over 31 days, through 17 states. Burnt through 411gal of gas which gave me an average mileage of 18.25mpg.

The only casualty was a scrape and dent to the rear driver bumper, which should pop back out easy enough!
