That's perfect! Thanks!

I installed my ARB front bumper this weekend and the front camera has a 6 wire harness. I haven't dug into the rear-view camera yet, but has everyone's rear-view camera been 4 wires? I'm wondering if the cameras changed for 16+ 200s.

In the build thread below, review post's #5,#6, #7 and #18 for show the quick version of this being addressed. I used trailer wiring with the all weather connector. the benefit is that I routed the camera to the tire carrier and should I want to remove the tire carrier I can unplug the camera. If you follow that camera relocation you will need to have a blank / cover made for the old camera location void.

I read over your camera relocate post a while back. I've bought trailer wire and a quick connect for it. Since the front camera was 6 wires, I'm concerned the rear camera on 16+ LC 200s will be 6 wires as well. I can pop the plastic trim off tonight and take a look.

interesting- lets us know what you find under there

Does anyone know if I need the same 6-wire for a 2008? I just got mine today and dropped it at the painter.
The bumper was so heavy, I thought I can handle to lift it in my can alone...no way.

@GeorgeN you can always just use 4 of the 6 . . . that's my plan if it turns out my 2009 LX needs just 4.

If so I might use the last 2 for bumper mounted lights.

I've added a couple reverse cameras over the years, usually isn't too big a deal to pull trim around the hatch, just get new clips ahead of time, they almost always break anyway, and you can go a lot faster in removal if you don't have to worry about them breaking. It isn't a big deal to crimp the wires if you don't solder.

the lx has a forward and side camera, and an auto dimming mirror too so I am not incentivized to replace.

For one minivan I got the wireless camera, but by the time I ran power to the camera I might as well have used wired signal too. It did work okay, so in a place where there isn't room for the signal cable and it has switched power already it is a good solution.

I wonder if a captive wifi camera might be a good look ahead solution. They're less than $50 now. Could pair with a dash mounted tablet.

A front mounted forward facing camera is on my list for the future. For the moment I will be happy to get the bumper installed and a mirror with a camera connection in place.
I actually want to keep the original camera where it is. If it turns out the tire carrier is too cumbersome in day to day I might remove it until I need to go on the trail.

To avoid the 11 seconds associated with swinging out the carrier, has anyone entertained an option similar to the Thule T2?

Basically, allow the tire carrier to pivot away from the vehicle, theoretically adding enough clearance to open the rear lift gate without swinging the whole bumper out.

Within our car garage, the minivan gets the two car side and the LC200 takes the single car side. That single car side is not the deepest, so the Thule T2 option is appealing as it would (theoretically) retain access to the lift gate when parked in the garage.

My mind's eye imagines retaining the swing out functionality to permit the fold down of the bottom portion of the rear gate when out of the garage.

Just a thought; not sure how feasible it really is...

Perhaps I'm late but maybe grommets or split loom where passing thru metal? You've inspired me to start my camera relocation. Be sure to take a few pics when finished.

how many feet of cable did you use? Please tell me less than 15.
