Reverse Lights upgrade in the rear reflector (1 Viewer)

So...
Add a reflector anywhere you like. :meh:
Reflectors are shallow, passive, and easy.

I know it is, but other people interested in this mod might not have thought of it. Those reflectors help make your car visible to other motorists and are an important safety feature.

Another option for additional reverse lights with minimal hacking would be to utilize the GX rear lenses

I hear ya.
Reflectors are important when parked on the side of the road at night too. Makes sense.
I was just presenting a solution to the concern.

In my experience, stock reverse lenses can only be brightened so much. I’ve done it with LEDs and meh... No comparison to a full power work-light floods.

I think the loss of the reflector is significant enough that it warrants a solution. I never thought about it, but ya I also don't have the reflectors anymore. No idea if they are DOT or state required, not bothering to look. So, I fixed it really easily. Package of stick-on reflector tape from Lowes, $4 for 4 pieces that are 6" long. Hope it stays stuck on, but it's easy to replace.

@Eric Sarjeant I am new to the forum as I am only a week into a Heritage. I have really been enjoying going through your past builds and videos as I strategize my own buildout. Great stuff! If any of these kits are available for purchase, I am very interested. Thanks!

Thanks! No, I don't have these kits available right now. Considering making 10 or so once this whole co-vid mess winds down.

Count me in as well. Can you re-post the above DIY w/Rigid Ignite defused emitter?

Thank you!!

Conspicuity is critical for low-light and fog/weather conditions. DOT certified tape (3M) is key to being compliant across all states and even some countries, while UK law dictates red or red/yellow on rear of vehicle, and white on front. We used white conspicuity tape under each headlight in Ghana as this was their requirements in the event, and they did this a lot, of not running headlights at night but you knew you were seeing the front of a vehicle. Having even minimal conspicuity like this is critical.

Quick question; does any of the Rigid models used trip any of the CANBus error codes if you're plugging them into the wiring harness?

Search my username and Rigid Ignite. It can't be too hard to find.

Sign me up! I’ll take one of the 10

Sign me up as well. Rear lighting is really crucial and would love to have a set.

Can you work with me to make a set now? I am very interested.

I do like the expo style of the light mod as Eric presented.

Tossing this out as another option. The original lenses are a fully functional fixture. Just need to add a socket and bulb.

I find them useful as rear fogs that can be used on the road, and when off-road with a bunch of dust kicked up for better visibility. The red can be useful to preserve night visibility when used as a scene lighting in camp.

Interesting, you have more pictures or a write up of how you set this up? Is it wired to a switch, reverse lights, brake lights, or taillights?

Sure. Post #10 in this thread. I do recommend the SwithPros even if pairing with aftermarket Rigid light fixtures as you can adjust the brightness.

Hi Eric, I'm looking for this kit. Kindly advise. Thanks
We make them as one-offs at our body shop. I’m working with someone right now is trying to make it via plastic injection molding. Unfortunately it’s taking quite a while to get right. I’ll definitely post up once available

Thanks, can I just cut out the existing reflector to fit in the light? Is that what you did, and just painted reflector?
