Worked on getting a better ground from the battery to chassis, and figuring out a ground strap location from engine to frame. Any recommendations ??
Also got my CCOT HFS 8274 winch bumper in pewter out of the box and semi mounted. That was after I had to cut the original bent bumper off. Pita that was!!
I cleaned up the mounting area and threw on the new one. Looks great!
Pics to come.

Here's the CCOT bumper installed. I really like the way it looks, and it is extremely stout. Also got the front signals mounted. Ran my ground cable from one of the starter mounts to the frame, same as factory. I'm hoping I won't have any grounding issues moving forward.

I like to run 3 grounds from the battery. One to the sheet metal on the fender or firewall, one to a bolt on the frame, and one to the engine. The starter mounting bolt is a good place near the battery. Clean mounting surface, star washers, and dielectric grease.

That's a good idea. I may add a third from the batt to the body.

Short video of it running.

Getting the kinks out. I realized I switched the guages! Temp where fuel should go!!! Ha! Oh well, hope I didnt hurt something!

not sure if anyone has asked yet... is this one yours or is it going up for sale?

I wish, going up for sale as soon as its complete. I have a 74 I have my on for the next one.
However, this one is by far my best, and I'm attached to it the most. It's the first FJ I ever bought, and it's been over 6 years maybe 8??? Since I bought it with my dad. Me and my dad worked on it together, and my father has since passed on. So this is a tuff one for me. All my family will have a ride for sure!
But alas, gotta keep moving forward towards my dream!!!

What finish should I use on all the external fasteners? Yellow zinc, or stainless?

The fastener may not be Alan head on the stainless, just a quick example.

Took her out on her maiden voyage to the gas station. Brakes work, no funny noises, but she's blowing the main fuse coming off the battery, will need to investigate. Lots of things still to do, but it was FUN!!!!!

Congratulations on your maiden voyage! I can't wait to get there myself. Your rig looks great, good job.

Thanks' your rig is looking sweet!!!

Even without shocks, I think this is the best set of springs I've ridden on... Nice and soft.
The engine showed good power, tranny shifted well, guy at gas station was really digging on it, must have walked around it 5 times! :)

2 thumbs up! Wow, very nice.

I think the stainless bolts look more "correct" on your rig.

I'm contemplating the stainless Allen head bolts, but would like to find them in Black.

Would like to know what you decide.

It's looking awesome man. Pretty nice having sunshine in October huh? Well, it was nice I should say.

Today's the last day of 70+ weather were gonna have until freakin June!!!! Enjoy the day! I'm going home at lunch and driving her for the rest of the day!!! Yesterday I put about ten miles on her. No hiccups! Slight noise coming from front brakes, but I thinks it's just pad noise as it settles in as it comes and goes with use of brakes. Like they drag a bit after being released.
