So the leather seats in my '94 are really hard and uncomfortable now. I've read that Wet Okole seat covers fit like a glove, so I'm considering maybe removing the leather on my front seats, replacing the seat pads with new foam and installing a custom fitted seat cover like WOs WITHOUT reinstalling the worn leather. Is this a bad idea? Any other covers that are fitted as nicely as WOs?

The stitching is mostly gone in my ass section of the seat, leather is rock hard and several springs have gave out. Who knows how much ass sweat and flatulence (Flatulence is defined in the medical literature as "flatus expelled through the anus" or the "quality or state of being flatulent",[1] which is defined in turn as "marked by or affected with gases generated in the intestine or stomach; likely to cause digestive flatulence".[2] The root of these words is from the Latin flatus – "a blowing, a breaking wind".[3] Flatus is also the medical word for gas generated in the stomach or bowels.[4] These standard definitions do not reflect the fact that a proportion of intestinal gas may be composed of swallowed environmental air, and hence flatus is not totally generated in the stomach or bowels. The scientific study of this area of medicine is termed flatology It is normal for humans to pass flatus through the rectum, although the volume and frequency may vary greatly between individuals. It is also normal for intestinal gas passed through the rectum to have a characteristic feculent smell, although this too may vary in concentration. Flatus is brought to the rectum by specialised contractions of the muscles in the intestines and colon. The noises commonly associated with flatulence ("Blowing a raspberry") are caused by the vibration of anal sphincters, and occasionally by the closed buttocks. Both the noise and smell associated with flatus leaving the anus can be sources of embarrassment or comedy in many cultures.. ) this seat has absorbed. Its almost comfy now.
I was thinking of just getting a thick sheep shin cover for it but I am not sure if I would like it. New foam and some sort of cover would be nice to have, keep posted what you install.

Sorry to be long winded:moon:

Good quality $$$$ sheepskins are awesome. Keep you warm in winter and no sweaty butt all summer.

In my youth I thought them laughable, but then I bought a used truck with a nice set... now all my cars get them. Even my motorcycle has one.

I put my Wet Okoles directly over my leather at first and later added a 1" memory foam style pad in between. Very comfortable set up.

Hmm... There's a place by the junkyard that advertises sheepskin stuff, Pat Garrett's. Maybe I'll stop by there sometime and check them out. I really like the look of the WO and if they fit nice as folks say I'ma try ripping off the old farty leather and install without it underneath. At least up front.

wet okoles are probably great in an enclosed rig. the ones on my 40 fit great. unfortunately, every time it rained, i was sitting in a puddle (seats underneath were dry tho), they also picked up the faintest grease off my hands and tore kind of easily. i've been running tuff duck covers in my 60 and both 80s and love them. i'm short so i slide in and out of my seat and they don't go anywhere. durable, easy to clean . beatch to put on cause they fit so tight tho.

The real beauty of the fit of the Wet Okoles is that the seat bottom and seat back are separate covers. You can strap the bottom on really tightly and it doesn't move much at all. The cheaper seat covers (and even some pretty expensive "Custom Fit" covers) are connected tops and bottoms. No chance for those to fit very well. I liked my Wet Okoles pretty well, but they gave you a bit of swamp-ass in the summer.

I'm considering sheepskins, but the 80 seats suck for my back. Not sure I want to sink any more money into them, rather than replace with something with a little more support.

I also have Wet Oklole covers in my 80 and they fit great. They do tend to be sweaty in the summer and stain kind of easily (grease). I'm looking for something else to switch mine out with, but am having a hard time finding covers that fit as well as the WO.

i agree with nmfrontier. they aren't too sweaty, but not warm. they do fit tight enough to give a little support to worn cushions, but in the end, it's still an 80 seat. i had the demin type material in both 80s and the cotton in the 60. the deminy stuff is more durable. they all sunfade, but so the wet okoles
