The very tip of the original heater cable is busted that slips over the whatchamacallit on the heater tap to pull or push it open, so I'm going to replace it. I started to take off the thing that encases all the knobs (It's a 1982 HJ47) but it resists being pulled off. I assume this is the only way to change the knob and cable (I assume the knob doesn't unscrew from the cable or something). Any tips on getting access to the knob and cable and replacing it with a new one? Thanks in advance.
