Replacing Front Bench Seat for buckets 90 4x4 (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

My front bench seat is no longer cutting it. I have read that certain year passenger cars would mount in the same location.

Any advice before I start calling local bone yards?

If someone is local I can sell my bench seat. Its gray and clean, no rips or anything.

Just about anything is posible... Only a few options are a direct bolt in though.... I'd look for some SR5 buckets out of a 90-95 4Runner or truck, I just put some in my ride and they are great!!!

If you can weld or fab something, I'd just look for some comfy seats that match your truck well.

Thanks, on a different toyota forum, someone suggested that certain year Supra seats would fit in the stock location.

You could fit 1st gen 4 Runner seats in too. You have to drill couple holes but nothing major.

Also, you could go w/ aftermarket seats which I am starting to like very much. My pickup has the Beard bucket seats which is very comfortable.

Mark, I was thinking about Supra seats too, till I saw them...... Look at Supras on e-bay and see if you like that seats though. They just seem a little like they were trying to make them look futuristic, but kept getting it wrong.....

Supra seats are great. granted they may look a bit funny, but they hug your body and keep you from moving around. great for wheeling. also 4-runner buckets from an sr5 model are super comfy they have ajustable lumbar suports on the driver side and the passenger side slider helps to stow stuff.

Thanks, for tip on the 4Runner seats, but I prefer not to drill anymore holes into my truck. I would prefer to use something that is a direct bolt in.

Im not sure to do with the original seats. Would the bone yard buy them back from me?

2nd gen 4runner seats bolt in... no drilling(as I recall...it's been 5 years). Add nut/bolt at inner front corner of seat for complete 4 point attachment.

Hi all,

I found Supra seats from an 86, does anyone know if this is a direct bolt in or not. FOr 53.00 for both seats I cant go wrong.

buckets from an 87-89 4Runner. They are more supportive than the other year SR5 seats. Don't ask me why, but I have been able to confirm this a few times now. You'll also need a pass bucket seat from a pickup to swap the rails. Then it's a near bolt in - just a minor opeinig of one of the rear bolt holes.

I ended up using 94 Tercel seats, because the recycler crushed the Supra I looked at.

Ill be getting some car seat covers.

What year 4Runner do you have? I am not an expert. My first seats I wanted were from an 86 Supra that ended getting crushed yesterday. I found a Toyota Paseo 91, that I could not get the Drivers seat out, and found a 94 Tercel which I pillaged the seats out of.

I went to the auto parts store and got a seat cleaner May have to hit it a few times and find out how much it will be to reupholster the seats.

the 2nd gen 4-runner seats are a direct bolt in and they will be the most versatle and supportave for you by far. just find a pair outa an sr5 just like he said between 87 and 89 and youll be sitting in luxury as you eat rock

Yes, my son. That was my Pre-War M70 controlled feed X-ring Eliminator. I had lots of fun with that 15 lb war club.

My best score with that bad boy was 591-31. I switched to this rifle here at www.rossprecision.com

well i use to compete in service comps with my ar 15 but my pops has a M70 just like that. nice rifle but the thing is so heavy i can barly lift it to shoot it off hand.
