I’m looking for advice on replacing the factory winch bumper with an integrated winch on my 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ76. I want to swap it for a standard factory chrome bumper but have hit a few roadblocks. After removing the winch bumper and hardware, I found that the winch bumper can’t be reinstalled flush without the winch, and the standard chrome bumper doesn’t seem to fit on the winch bumper mounts (at least I don’t think it does because parts schematics seem to show different mounts for each bumper).
I’ve tried ordering mounts from Cruiser Parts, but they turned out to be incorrect even though they listed them as being the right mounts (I think they were described as “post-85, pre-2007 70-series bumper mounts” or similar. I also reached out to Amayama, and while they were very helpful over email, they said they couldn’t figure out what the correct parts were either. I punched in my VIN on their parts finder and it does not populate the mounts or give parts numbers for them. It shows this schematic and the mounts are circled in red, but I believe this is EXACTLY what I ordered from Cruiser Parts, unsuccessfully.
If anyone has experience with this kind of swap or knows the correct part numbers for the mounts and any required hardware, I’d really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance for any advice.
I guess if this doesn’t work, any suggestions for a low profile bumper third party bumper that will fit a 2000 HZJ76 is appreciated.
