I think the 3 series BMW seats fit in the space pretty well and are offered with heat and some with cooled and heat. Few relays and a switch and you could have heated and cooled leather seats. Just another option. I think im going to go this route

Resurrecting this thread. Did you end up getting BMW seats? If so, which model?

I recently put some Procar Lumbars in my 40 and really like them, FWIW.

EDIT: it has now been over SIX MONTHS, since placing my order for the Procar Lumbar seats and brackets. Told new arrival date was ”mid December.” Was told seat brackets were made to order and would be 10 week…. Back in May.

Have the ProCar Lumbars on order. They don’t keep them in stock. Made to order. 16 weeks. Floor brackets are the same with a 10 week lead time.

Can you elaborate more on this? Going to start doing some home work on this and would love to hear the some opinions on this.
Well, im pretty sure recaro (and BBS Wheels) just declared bankrupcy haha but the build quality on the Recaros i sat in was infinitley better than the SM seats i have. This guy local to me has a defender with the recaros that are one step up from the SM Vario F seats i have and they are heated and cooled, auto adjustments and are literally sewn together better. My SM seats have this velcro backing on the back of the seats and i fold them forward a lot to put my kid in the car and they are always undone. Also the seat heat elements in them are pretty weak. The twist wheel recline is the most infuriating thing and kind of reminds me why i have never, and will never own any cars from Europe.

Dont get me wrong, they are really nice seats, but for what i spent on them i expected more from them. BMW 3 series seats are a better upgrade at like 1/8th the cost.

If i could go back in time, id either do the 3 series seats and save the money, or save up more and get the recaro orthopeds

Bumping this up really quick.

There was a question a little ways back about tight fitting covers for these.

Has anyone found something that works well?

Thank you
