1986 FJ60 DE-SMOGED 2F in progress.

I recently purchased an oem 19100-61180 re curved dizzy. Has anyone had trouble swapping out this one from stock? The gear is upside down on the new one compared to the one I pulled out. The oring is in a different spot as well. i have the motor at TDC and following the FSM i am unable to get the dizzy to seat past the top of the oring? there appears to be another 1/8 inch to go but it won't budge. Once it slips past the oring it come to a hard stop. I believe it's the bottom of the gear that it is stopping it from seating all the way. Are these dizzies interchangeable or do I need to get the one I pulled out rebuilt and recurved? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.

The 61180 is a non-USA dissy. It will work in your 86 FJ60 but it's not completely plug and play as it's a points dissy and the OE is electronic.

Not sure if that's even a 61180 dissy. Doesn't look like one from the simple pic. Post more pix, if you want.

HOWEVER, the drive gear has been installed upside down.

Also, you need to make sure the flat end of the dissy drive is fitted into the slot on the oil pump shaft. Procedure is in FSM, but you need to sort out the drive gear first, or whatever dissy you have.

Honestly, I'd send your OE electronic dissy to @FJ40Jim for a rebuild; it's a better unit. Haven't seen him on the board in a while, but I think he's still providing this service. Toyota Land Cruiser specialty parts - https://tlcperformance.com/

Good luck.
