Ended up with a tank through Rock Auto. Shipped quickly.
It is the Spectra Premium T07C 19 gallon tank.
Tank came silver and I put a coat of black paint on it.
No Drain plug.
Physically it is lighter in weight than the original tank.
I removed and replaced the tank from the underside of the truck and did not take the bed off, though I think that would of been a little easier. If I had to do it again from the bottom I would remove the Drive shaft to give more maneuvering room.
I broke one of the fuel line supply tubes that comes out of the fuel pump holder trying to get the flex line off. Word to the wise undo the hose on the other end, closer to the frame. Had to order a new fuel pump holder. Would of needed one anyway as the original one was rusting.
Fortunately Toyota still has them available.
Ordered new fuel pump from Napa and got a Denso pump. Identical to what came out. Did not come with a new pump Cushion so had to order that from Toyota as well. Some of the pumps came with the cushion.
Also put in a new sending unit from Toyota while I had the tank out.
The hose that goes from the pump to the holder was rotted out as well. The filter screen at the intake of the pump had completely
disintegrated in the tank and the original pump cushion and turned to a pliable rubber.
I am sure a lot of this is from the ethanol fuel and having been sitting for the last 10 years.
FYI some of the online Toyota retailers show some gas tanks that would of worked available but they did not have them when I tried to order. To bad.
Here a few pictures of the condition of the pump. The original tank was nasty inside. I think it could of been cleaned but all the Radiator shops around us that used to do that service are gone.
