My buddy has a GX470 and just replaced his 3 hole washers with Tacoma washers and I thougt to myself: "Why the heck didn't I think of that?", so I made the change for about $45.

What's the difference? Tacoma washers have a rectangular spread as opposed to our 2 hole linear spray pattern. When clearing snow and muck from my windshield, I've always felt that this was one of the few areas my FZJ80 needed better engineering (besides the sunvisor - don't get me started).

First off, here are both, side by side:

Here is a better shot of the opening:

And here is the part number:

I think the pattern is much better and more even across the windshield, but I really have not had a good rain here in Colorado yet this fall after putting them on, so I will post more once I have had a good test.

Yep need some more info on this

excellent thans for part number now I have to @beno

Thanks for the questions, guys.

Here is a video of me doing about 40 on surface streets:

As can see the spray splatters is all across the windshield. I think it's a huge improvement over what I had before,

Regarding a pic of them installed, they really look exactly the same and it's a zero banana job, honestly.

I haven't tested above 50 mph yet, but will let you know once I do. Kaninja, here is my chart:

5 - 50 mph - Great spread
50+ mph - TBD

Overall, I'm glad I did this cheap mod, and am looking to see what winter can throw at me this year!

I ported the factory misters and now they are sprayers. The only time needed them is for mud and no misters offer the volume I wanted. At speed they also do wonders for tailgaters:grinpimp:

LOL, I used to do that with my VW Scirocco. You could aim the rear window sprayers and spray people off to the side. I sprayed many friends with this during my shenanigan years.

The volume is huge and it goes over the roof and you immediately get respect from the vehicles behind you.

I'd love to see more on this mod, Phil!

Just get behind me and flash you lights:flipoff2:but if the lights are flashing red and blue:eek:
Though both rarely happens :D

Awesome thinking outside of the box, now if I can just get the wiper to last more than 4-5 months.
Have you tried the silicone PIAA wipers? I hear they are great, waiting for my current set to die before i try them.

I just put a set on our 06 4Runner and they are great (especially compared to the top line Ancos I had on there before that chattered and streaked the whole time and I was too stubborn to change them till the actually got bad). If the Piaas last 2 years I'll be ahead of the game. I have Bosch on the 80 and they're already starting to suck less than a year in. Will probably pony up for Piaa next go round.

They are spendy and mixed reviews......:(

On our old 04 4Runner I ran them and they did great and lasted a very long time. In fact, I think they were still on it when it got totaled and about 3 years old at that point.

Im def going this route, score OEM wipers and blades from @beno and they are mint. sprayers dont suck but need to be upgraded great idea

@ColoradoLC I assume these fit in the 80 hood without modification (to the hood or sprayers)?

They fit perfectly! The hose connects to the bow side of the washer as opposed to the side for the stock ones, but the hose had plenty of play to cover that change.
