two more.
do you just leave the connectors on the main harness unplugged after you pull the sun-harness or do you somehow need to reconnect two connectors from the main harness?
and does anyone know where i can find the CDL switch?
thanks

You will either find a empty plug to fill otherwise nothing is needed and there is a short pig tail on the steering column that you unplug remove and plug it back in you don't need to cut any wires just zip ties, and it depends on which knuckle head has done this, I have pulled several Oh yeah pull your knee bolster and plenum for the crouch vent to get the rest of the stuff ( btw there is a screw upper left that holds the plenum in have fun

hey man.
i found the CDL plug. it had a male portion with wires that was grounding it i guess. so i pulled it and just snapped the CDL in.
is this the pigtail? or do you know what this is?

here is the SECURITY SWITCH coming out. there are two 2 pin connectors that may not even be connectors. so i just unplugged it at the switch. but there are at least three or four zip ties up under the metal shield so that had to come out. one is just to the left of the stereo. one is directly under the steering column but you have to pull the harness there off it’s mounts and one is up above the DA kickpanel.

@shocktower a little more help please?

> You will either find a empty plug to fill otherwise nothing is needed

meaning no need to plug two portions of the remaining harness together?

> and there is a short pig tail on the steering column that you unplug remove and plug it back in

i’m not following this. i find a portion of the harness under the steering column? and i do what?

> you don't need to cut any wires just zip ties

roger that

> pull your knee bolster and plenum for the crouch vent

the knee bolster is the portion of the dash? the plenum is what exactly? and what is a crouch vent please?

> btw there is a screw upper left that holds the plenum

where is this again?

> have fun

I have done probably 8-10 removal and I have it down pat and doesn't take that long, since you only have one to do and shall accept the punishment for the enjoyment of the vehicle

holy crap. one thing i know is that any time anyone on a wiring thread like this says “nice post i did it in fifteen minutes” i know i’m in for an afternoon in the heat hoping to get in for dinner. APPRECIATE the help.
for anyone looking to do this i would leave the alarm system in unless it is giving you problems. i never even got to removing all of it.
i ended up cutting bait and just moving the alarm sensor over to the left side so i could get the CDL switch in. take off that metal shield. bring a pair of scissors and be ready to cut zip ties buried far back. key in and foot on the pedal to move the shifter back to pull off or push back the trim pieces. also pull the ebrake to get more room. you have to unplug the airbag harness under the steering column. then i just fished the alarm panel wires back through the dash piece in the left and clipped the cover in.

Hi Y’all- I know this thread is old but I’m trying to chase down a red wire that was spliced into my park/neutral position switch coming off the transmission. I am wondering if it is the red wire y’all have referenced that goes down the steering column. Any reason TVSS would have an electrical connection to the park/neutral position switch like this?

the truck is a 93 with TVSS, and no other additional powered accessories that I am aware of. Thank you!
