I am having an electrical problem and suspect a problem with the 'Power Main Relay' and possibly the 'Door Lock Relay'. Am I correct in assuming these are on the back side of the junction/fuse box which is behind the driver side kick panel? What is the easiest way to access these relays? How many bolts attach the junction box? Any suggestions appreciated.

Never pulled the fuse panel off the body but you can check the FAQ for a link to the FSM and look up the section "EWD" for a diagram of the fuse panels to see how its connected and what's behind it..

I had a door lock issue and suspected the relay on the back side. I took out the junction box and swapped the relays to see if the problem moved. It’s not fun. Not many bolts, but gobs of electrical connectors. I was amazed that I got it reassembled without forgetting something or breaking a connector.

I’d exhaust all other possible options before digging back in there again.

Thanks for the input. When I looked at the junction box I was not excited about removing it. The wire bundles and plugs are packed into such a small area but apparently there is no easy remedy. Thanks again.

@rfenio did you end up removing the junction box? How did it go? Any tips for removing it?

I'm having door locking issues. I've traced the issue to one of the circuits that incorporates a Door Lock Relay (Specifically the D/L (U) Relay on the diagram). I've had plugged sunroof drains before and suspect some water ran down the A-pillar and got into the junction box. Hoping I can clean up corrosion versus replacing the junction box (which i assume is expensive).

Any help is much appreciated.

Good day from down under,
I have a right hand drive series 100 and suspect my fuel pump relay is faulty. How do I remove the relay/fuse panel to get to the relays on the backside? I also have the heater unit in the way. I can only see one nut holding it at the bottom.
Any advice would would be appreciated.
Cheers
