I am replacing all of the lines on the P/S system and running into trouble with removing the cooling line (paper clip). I have contorted myself and tried weaving the line in every imaginable way, but I cannot figure out how to get it out without cutting it or removing the radiator as it weaves up and over the frame and under the radiator. I have searched the forums and the FSM to no avail, aside from guys in hot areas just cutting it and replacing with larger coolers.

Can I bend it without causing damage to the line, or do I need to loosen the bolts supporting the radiator in place to give it space to slide out? How in God's name do I remove this gently enough to not cause any damage to the line?

I believe u gotta remove the rad or at least unbolt it and give yourself enough room to slide it out.I'm almost in the same boat but installing the line and i have to lift the rad to give myself enough room to put in the cooling line, which im doing today. When i removed the old line i just cut it out.

It's possible to unbolt and shift the radiator around slightly without having to drain the coolant, correct?

I cut mine, and it was still a PIA.....

What did you replace it with, OEM? How did you install the new unit?

I bought a used tranny cooler and used it. Mounted it up on the pass side. Thought I had some pics on my FOO thread below, but can't find them.

Will post up some.

If I did it again, I would get a ford plate cooler from a junkyard. Really easy to find and install. Plus won't be ruined when my kids powerwash the mud off them and lay all the fins flat.
