In the middle of trying to install my lift. Have the rears done, starting on the fronts. I've absolutely hit a wall with this $&#@*^& electronics bracket on top of the strut. I really hope I'm missing something obvious. I can't find anything online mentioning this so I'm assuming there's some easy route I'm oblivious to.

There's two allen head bolts holding this bracket on. One in front with clear access, and for some Godforsaken reason, one buried behind the module between the fender wall with hardly any access/clearance. On top of this, these allen heads strip with about 5lbs of force applied. I was able to get vise grips on the one in front, but I can't figure out how to access the one in rear. Hoping someone has a tip/trick. Photos below trying to show what I'm referencing.

you can unplug and twist the assembly to get to the other bolt. If you get them off undamaged, they go on ebay for a pretty good price.

These pieces do? What do they typically go for? Found a couple on eBay going for $30.

Thanks Vlad. I certainly didn't succeed in getting the first one off undamaged, but moving forward again. :wrench:

I seen this last week and my lift gets here this weekend, how did you get them off can we just break lol?

I break em off unless you want some little value on ebay. I've seen then from $30-75 per actuator assembly.

I got mine off intact by unbolting the strut first and letting it drop a bit. Capped them off and zip-tied them safely in the engine bay.

i either just twisted till it broke or said **** it and took an angle grinder to that s*** till it was off.

I just used a spare allen wrench and cut the short end shorter to fit. worked great and left the units intact

I was so frustrated after I got mine off that I just threw them in the garbage.

To get them off, I did the same thing as CarolinaGX, I cut down an allen wrench to fit better.

Has anyone completely removed these electronics? I just zip tied them after converting to OME and wanted to go back and remove them all.

They unplug in the engine bay

@Vlad is correct, trace them back to the engine bay and you can disconnect them easily there, I had the same question after picking mine up and seeing they had zip tied them to my UCA.

Any trouble codes/lights by leaving them unplugged during the upgrade from OEM adjustable shocks?
