The hand brake assembly is under the cup holder. You can remove the cupholder by pulling it directly up towards the roof of the 200. It is only held in with clips. I don't think only removing the armrest would gain you any access better than pulling the cupholder. If you need to remove the entire console, that's more involved.Anyone know how to remove the armrest to get a hold of the handbrake assy?

Yes, I would like to remove the console (cooler in some models) aswell! I am about to change the parking brake wires and find it difficult to work in that tight space.Do you need to get further than this?
