Remove CD/DVD changer in center console area = Replace with ??? (10 Viewers)

Not sure if the LC has it, but in my 2004 LX...
Has anyone removed and made use of the area once occupied by the center console multi disc player, passenger rear DVD player AND put something else in its place?
HAM radio/CB/Storage?
Pics would be great or a link to an existing thread I overlooked (maybe in someone's build thread?)
Trying to get ideas of what can fit in those spaces once the equipment is removed (especially since it is not being used).

Weird. I don't have pics, but my '03 LX is a little different. I did remove the disc changer (don't own any discs) and used that space for a HAM unit.

I just have an empty cubby hole where you have the DVD.

Out of curiosity why are you removing it? I have the same setup in my 03 LX but do not have the magazine so I do not know if mine functions. Planning to test mine some day if I come across magazine to borrow or purchase for a reasonable price.

panel box #3 is the center console without nav. Any year 100 without nav works fine if you're looking at ebay.
I remember paying quite a bit more than 100$.
There's a thread with info and pics. But I can't find it.

Hi @wbwufpack just thinking storage space and wondering what others may have done "if" they removed their setup (removing it because I don't use it and I'd like to gain some storage space) Let me take some pics and see what I may have as far as magazine and related stuff.

@BenCC do you have something to fit this rear DVD space. I just removed mine as well. Perhaps leave the black bracket in place and drop in the same type of mod you have for the cd changer in the console? Or make a whole new piece to mount in the slot using factory holes kinda like you do for the scan gauge in the overhead console?

I can send you mine with the black bracket to model up if you’d like.
Prefer something that mounts in to utilize more space than just filling in the empty space with the factory mount.

He does, I've got it. Have to dig through his thread to find the model number (Make number?) and then PM him to get the purchase process started.

I tagged his empty profile. Corrected now. For clarity. the rear DVD setup next to the rear right hatch. Not the CD changer in the console. I am a little late to the party, but I just ran across this thread. I did this about a week ago and I am happy with it. My cd changer was broken so I cannibalized it for mounting. I would like to figure out how to fill in the dead space and make it look more flush and maybe figure out a way to route the mic without drilling a hole in the console, but I am not sure. I wish I had/knew how to use a 3D printer to make a face plate or even just a small storage space for pens/ a knife or something on the side of the radio. I welcome any suggestions/criticisms.
