Hello,

I bought my 200 used and it had HID Lights to replace whole housing http://www.carid.com/2008-toyota-la.../spyder-halo-projector-headlights-315297.html. Funny, I caught the change as not stock and made them recover the OEM headlight and send it to me, so, I have the originals in the basement.

Well, I noticed today one of the little lights on the bottom string is out. I can jiggle the light and get it to work sometimes, but can't get in far enough to see the area or remove anything. I'm betting if I can get to it I can fix the problem and be back in business.

I found the upper 2 bolts that hold the housing but don't know what needs to be removed, or not, to get to the lower 2 bolts.

Anybody know how to get the headlight (headlamp) assembly out?

Thanks,

TR

That's what I was thinking. I found some bolts for the bumper, are there any of those plastic clips that will need popping?

Thanks

So to remove the headlights you would have to remove the bumper cover and the grill .. There is no way around removing the headlight assembly with out removing the bumper cover ? I have a bull bar and they going to need to be removed if that's the case and i really don't want to go through all that hassle

I have a bullbar and didn’t have to remove it to replace my headlights. You just need to peel off the bumper skin to expose bottom headlight bolts. It was a pain but easier than removing bullbar.

intersting so the hardest part of removing the headlight is the bottom bolts. I wonder if you have a picture of that .. i appriecate all the info.

Unfortunately I don't but they are right under the headlight which is why I removed the bumper skin. It's super easy even with bull bar:

  1. Remove bolts from fender liners
  2. Remove top screws and/or clips along the top of the grill. You may need to remove beauty covers if you still have them
  3. You should be able to pop out the grill at this point. My winch control pack was in the way so I had to remove it
  4. Disconnect headlight washers from behind the bumper, make sure you clamp them off or you'll drain fluid everywhere especially on driver's side
  5. Start popping off the bumper skin from one of the wheel wells. It will be tight but you can maneuver the headlight washers between the bumper edge
  6. Slide bumper skin out in front of the bumper uprights
  7. Two lower bolts per headlight will now be exposed

Will try to work on it this weekend hopefully its not as complicated. I looked online and unfortunately no one has a video on removing the headlight unit that would've been big help

Headlight bolt pics I took a few months ago:

Normally there's a gray plastic thing that goes here, too, but was removed for my bumper:
