What can I tell you, it's my favorite beach, I can't help where I have lived. As far as driving on the beach, no way on God's green earth. Fighting rust is enough of a job without spraying salt laden sand and salt water up under my truck.

My vote would be Hunting Island just outside of Beaufort, SC or Edisto Island outside of Charleston

Since we are talking beaches out of NC here i'll say Oceano Dunes.

In NC I like the north end of the outerbanks. Peaceful and too far for anyone to walk so you normally are out there by yourself for a while at least.
