They absolutely were. Funny story behind them too. Bob's family received a set as a gift when he was a young child. His parents had heard how dangerous they were so they never let them play with them, rather they sat on a shelf tempting them. Years later in prep for the Relic Run Bob ran across a set at a garage sale and just had to finally get a set he could play with

Yes, 1979 and older only for the Relic Run. More details here:

We are launching a second event for 2014, the Retro Run which is 1980-1989 vehicles, basically an 80's throw-back event.

I have the perfect truck for this! Plenty of 50-80s camp gear too.

I'm still wearing the clothes I bought in the 80s so good to go there too.

No dates as of yet, we have a couple of events between now and then to iron out. We will 'try' to have dates for both Retro and Relic Run during the first quarter of 2014. In the meantime we'll be talking about plans, brainstorming and soliciting volunteers for the events on the EU forum here:
