Recovery Point for hzj75 not fitting (1 Viewer)

I just received a pair of Roadsafe tow points for the 75 series.
They do not fir since the parabolic leaf springs are apparently a bit longer than the oem springs..

This video is my description of my little issue.


This video shows the nut getting very close to the tow point. And that is just by rocking the truck manually.


Any ideas?

No ideas for you, but it seems these tow points seem to cause fitment issues on a lot of 70 series that I have seen over the years

I suppose you could build out a spacer between the frame and the recovery point. I wonder how much extra leverage that would put on the bolts though. Seems like there needs to be more space there even for the factory shackles to articulate. That is disappointing to see though. I was looking at a very similar set of recovery points.

Looks like thats how they are meant to be, they are just a crap overall product with no actual thought into the design, send them back.

Hello,

It might be possible to fit a spacer to keep the tow points from hitting the shackles. Not a good idea, I think.

Another option is installing OEM tow points. They do provide more clearance; they are beefier than they look as well.
