I'm looking for the possible parts list to rebuild my starter. The starter is the Mean Green version. I want to do this

Thanks in advance

I would think your best bet is to contact MG direct for the parts.

With a bunch of running around you might be able to lacate some contact that you could get work. But if the MG is like the OEM you want to replace the plunger also while apart. Probably quicker to go MG

I shot them an email. Hopefully they will get back to me before it stops starting.

Good luck with that. Sometime back I had to contact them & they were very responsive & went above & beyond to assist me. On the otherhand I've seen more than one post where they had problems getting a response. Don't give up & good lucl.

the local shops around here will rebuild them for $50. But I'm guessing from the thread you want to do it yourself.

Yeah thats what I was hoping to do. The shops here in tucson are quoting me 100.00 to rebuild it. So i was trying to save a couple of bucks.

If it ever comes up again Mean Green doesn't offer any supplies for rebuilding there starters. They also offered very little info, but what can you expect for a 300.000 starter. I just hope the local shop will use good parts to rebuild it.

They are unhelpful sometimes. Well, you have nothing to lose...if you can spare the vehicle down time, just start tearing into it. You may be able to fix it w/o their help. If you do need contacts, with a bit of searching they can be found.

I am not an expert, but most starters are designed simply & once you get inside, you should be able to figure it out. I've rebuilt my stock 62 starter...not very hard. If you are willing to tackle it in the 1st place, you shouldn't have any problems we can't help you with.

Good luck, John
