Does anyone have a winch on the rear bumper. I am looking for some pics of what others ma have done.

I have a warn on the front and use it often. I am generaly pulling others out of the snow. My concern is that when I go nose first into a ditch, I will be able to pull myself out.

Anyone have this set up.

Have seen them on someone's rig on the forum but don't remember whos it was. Try doing a search in 80 and hardcore. THe one I saw was on a 100 turned into a pickup. He had it mounted under the bumper IIRC. Very well done.

BTW, I also saw one yesterday on a Chevy pickup that mounted into the 2X2 receiver, and was convertable from front to rear. Very nice.

I have always thought an integrated rear winch would be killer. One of my roommates in collge had a big K5 blazer. He had his winch on a reciever hitch so he could mount it on the front or rear, or just take it off and put it in the truck.

What happened to the Junk?
Where is the story???

When I bought my 80 I was in too much of a hurry to build (buy/build really). Only realized this after wheeling my stock 45. The 45 has gone through some modifications but will remain close to stock and will be the vehicle that I continue to learn more on by doing more myself, by driving a closer to stock vehicle will make me a better driver, and my 5 yr old son has some skin in the game for helping me improve the truck. Win/win/win ;)

As you can see in the pics it's got a long way to go and will never be "restored", but it runs great and is a heck of a lot of fun driving.

Search the Outfitting section for the Foers winch system.

I've got junk's old junk....

Here is a pic i had handy of where and how the winch mounts. probably not a huge help but you get the idea.

**Clearly i'm still saving for a winch to throw in there**

Photoman also has a rear winch.

I had that set-up in the past, and it's great. One winch for both ends.

Junks set up looks nice. I was wondering what kind of winch would fit in the bumper. The x-9 looks great in the build up pics. I also like the step plates on the side of the bumper, I may add those in as well.

I will plan one out for the summer install. I have seen the reciever set up but that means more crap to carry around and would prefer a permanant mod.

Thanks for the pics guys.

If you shop around and look at other winches similar to the X9 you'll notice that i believe the X9 is one of the shortest ones you can buy.

That is one of the most limiting factors i have found in other types, some will fit but it seems tight. A 1 inch body lift would alone me to fit a whole assortment of winches on the back.

Right now i'd like to wait and do that, then throw a Warn m8000 or 9.5 in there and be finished.
