Not all Land Rovers are useless!
I recently remembered I needed to replace the bushes on the lower arms, some strange sensations occurring when turning left slowly had me investigate early one morning on the way to meet friends on a trail, I found nothing until jacking and checking during some arch welding was needed. So I decided to go with stronger arms, anything that fails on my 80 gets replaced with OE or better.
I found it cheaper to replace both rear arms with thicker and stronger material and a new supplier name in Spain was offered. I tried them out and ended up with two new heavy duty rear lower trailing arms shipped in from 'Pedders'. I have just opened the packaging and found they look OK except the bushes are voided like OE however, the voids on one end of the arms are the same...well similar, but on the other end (identical part numbers) they are set differently?
I am sure this is in error as the arms are not handed but are 'ended', normally I would just pull the OE arm off and look at that for reference, but I am looking to save time and if they are not correct then get them pushed out and corrected before stripping mine down.
Of course I searched and every picture I found was by someone fitting solid urethane bushes, something I might have done if I could have found black versions on the quick, anything other than that would probably get me a failure on the yearly inspection.
Anyone have a picture of an OE install of the original voided bushes?
Many thanks in advance.
regards
Dave
