I recently remembered I needed to replace the bushes on the lower arms, some strange sensations occurring when turning left slowly had me investigate early one morning on the way to meet friends on a trail, I found nothing until jacking and checking during some arch welding was needed. So I decided to go with stronger arms, anything that fails on my 80 gets replaced with OE or better.

I found it cheaper to replace both rear arms with thicker and stronger material and a new supplier name in Spain was offered. I tried them out and ended up with two new heavy duty rear lower trailing arms shipped in from 'Pedders'. I have just opened the packaging and found they look OK except the bushes are voided like OE however, the voids on one end of the arms are the same...well similar, but on the other end (identical part numbers) they are set differently?

I am sure this is in error as the arms are not handed but are 'ended', normally I would just pull the OE arm off and look at that for reference, but I am looking to save time and if they are not correct then get them pushed out and corrected before stripping mine down.

Of course I searched and every picture I found was by someone fitting solid urethane bushes, something I might have done if I could have found black versions on the quick, anything other than that would probably get me a failure on the yearly inspection.

Anyone have a picture of an OE install of the original voided bushes?

Many thanks in advance.

Not to sound like a Schultz but...Pictures! Please!
My strengthened SPC lower control arms had rear bushes diff from the front bushes. The fronts look OEM, but the rears a "poofy", IIRC. Supposed to be allow more movement than OEM.
Jury is still out on them, and may be for a while as I only do a couple thousand miles a year and most of those are in the winter.

Sorry I did not feel it necessary to photograph anything for such a simple question. The bush orientation is not the same for each bar despite not being handed and having the same part number.

I do recall many years back that one end had the bush voids at 90' and the other at 180'. I have a complete set of manuals somewhere in the cloud........but the wind appears to have blown them away, thanks for your thoughts though.

See the attached screen shot.

The front is horizontal, rear is vertical.

Excellent! Thanks for that I have access to a press but could not find the actual pictures of the orientation.

I have just found my cloud based storage of the full set of 80 manuals and was just looking through for the info. I knew the voids were bound to be wrong, I might not have been so suspicious if they had all been the same but when none of them are the exactly the same it triggered the 'am I about to install a problem?' thought.

Thanks again.

Thanks for that you were beaten by @BILT4ME by about fifteen minutes, but the effort is appreciated, it does seem that there has been some deviation from the original setup from.t years back?

In the meantime I have contacted the Pedders agent in Spain and see what they come back with.

Thanks again.

Quick update on the Pedders HD trailing arm bushes. The company I purchased from are contacting Pedders, it seems they advertise as a '4x4 specialist' but I am beginning to think they are a 4x4 STOCKIST, there is a vast difference between the two.

I will get back to you.

Well they were just to get a bead on what you had, is all. No worries.

Another update.

The supplier emailed me today and informed me that PEDDERS agree the bushes have been installed incorrectly, so are entertaining a warranty claim however, the supplier does not have any more in stock. So I am unsure how long I am going to have to wait? If the supply from PEDDERS comes from manufactures in Australia then that could be weeks! Or there is another set somewhere else in Spain or at least nearer that PEDDERS might be able to divert to me?

So pretty much peeved at the moment!

Update you as and when.
