Anyone know how to pull the rear tail light? Looking at maybe running the CB antenna wire through there.

Open tailgate, on the side of the light there are two circular covers pull them off with a screw driver and unbolt the light. To pull it out you need to gently rock it up and down while pulling as there are clips holding it as well.

I wouldn't waist your time doing that. Open up the area where the bottle jack is and there is a plastic vent that goes to the rear bumper you can pop out or remove one of the rubber grommets and go down near the rear fuel tank.

Trying to run anything behind the taillight is going to be a pain in the ass and if your brake any part of the light its $ to replace.

Thanks DM. Went back out there and tried up and down, but didn't really have much play with it that way. So went a little bit back and forth and backwards. I felt the top clip pop out and then finally got the bottom clip to release. In a sense there is kind of 4 clips you are trying to unclip from after you get the two bolts out. The bolts are the easy part. lol

You can see the two white clips on the side and then the black upper and pink lower clip.

The two white side fasteners.

Running the antenna wire down and through the now exposed opening.

Then I just used a fish tape to get it from the back to inside the door sill and along there to the front seat and then up through the big slit in the carpet that is underneath the front seat. The next project will be fabbing up some sort of metal bracket to mount the CB radio on.

I thought I had taken a picture of the back of the tail light assembly itself once it was out... Guess not.

Too late on the removal. And no damage was done to the light assembly in the process. Though I was hesitant. But I also wanted to make the run with the antenna wire that I had and not make it longer.

Rear tail light removal the same for an lx570?

I've pulled both my taillights to wash & polish behind them (yeah... I'm that guy). It's important to pull straight back once you remove the 2 screws. There are 2 hooks on the bottom of the taillight that slide over pins in a bracket under the bumper cover. They will only tolerate pulling the taillight straight back. Wish I had taken a photo.

Pulled the Lx tail lights today and it was a bitch... They have the same 2 10mm bolts you unbolt from the front, and then there are 2 clips on the side of light assembly holdingit nice and snug to the quarter panel...

What a second, just seen the pic above, same crap...damn, so just pull straight back, huh? I swear, I was pulling straight back and that beeatch felt like I was gonna snap something if pulled with anymore force...F, it.. It's done anyways...

Updating this thread....I had some success removing the tail lights by using rubber dish wash gloves. Yes, seems silly but I was able to get enough friction pulling the lights toward me to finally remove the lights. It does take some time but you need to jimmy the lights around until you feel it pull out a little bit and then use a little bit stronger force to pull out.

LX470 has two sets of tail lights. The outer one and the inner one.
To replace the bulb in the outer one, you have to remove the light assemble by:

  • Opening the tailgate, and Removing the 2 10mm bolt
  • Pushing the light assemble toward the side, either left or right, NOT the rear, to remove it from the body. You may use palm to hit it to force it out although.
Wrong place...

I think you may be posting 100 series instructions in a 200 series thread. They come out differently on different generations. The 200 definitely goes straight back (toward the stern).
