Installing new suspension on an '88 FJ62 and noticed both rear sway bar brackets (that connect to the frame) each have a broken bolt (see picture). I tried removing bolts but they are on there pretty tight; so much so that I think the bolts might be welded to the bracket. Can anyone answer if they are welded? If so, anyone have recommendations on how to save the bracket? I want to avoid paying $125 for each. Thanks!

I just took my sway bar mounts off as well. Not bolts but press in studs. Not sure how you'd replace them without some metal work. Cut open the structure in the back,. Grind off the stud back. Slip new bolts in and weld.

You could just punch them out and remove them through the large hole in the side, put in new ones and suck them into place with a nut .

Drill the bolts out, make the holes one step up in size and use good replacement hardware in grade 8.8.
