HI there,

Well I have a 83 fj-60. I am running the Swamper radials so that makes a little vibration at certain speeds. As a result my rear seat rattles and it works your nerves on a trip of any length.

Any of you folks know how to make the top of the rear bench stop rattling? I looked at it and it has little rubber things in the back where the pin that locks th seat sits. Wasn't sure if there was a fix out there that I didn't know about.

Leave the seat folded down?

Plasti-coat the pin?

Mine does the same thing...i just close the seat with a bandana wedged in each bracket, works great, stops all the noise.

When I finally get motivated, I was thinking I'd buy a piece of the same diameter vacuum hose, slitting it up the side and placing it over the point-of-contact...Should work great, be invisible and cost ~$1.00

I took a short length of heater hose and cut it to fit over the pin. The latch clamps the hose to the pin and the rattle is gone.

Thanks guys.

I have some heater hose hanging from a nail in my shop that I can use to fix it with. Thanks for the idea guys.

I bought the OEM replacement but I like these ideas much better. I'll set some rubber tubing aside for the inevitable. Thanks for the post!
