rear heater location??

hey guys my piggy is missin the rear heater. i have a rear heater in my 40, so i am taking it out....

are the rear 40 and 55 heaters the same?? either way its gettin the 40 heater.

where do the mount in the stock location?

it looks like there are 2 bolt holes in the floor about 3 inches in back of my front seats on the floor, but if it bolts there, the seat wont be able to tumble forward

i guess i can put it anywhere i want really, but where is about the best place? i want the seat to still tumble forward and i want the back clear so i can go camping and lay down in the back..

i thought about between my 2 front bucket seats? how much heat will this thing put out??

by the sounds of it yours either didn't come with a rear heater to start with, or the mounts for the bucket seats are in the way of putting it where it originally went.
anyway, heres a pic of my floor that may help if you dont have the round heater hump thing.

well i guess my seats are in they way....

i have the round hump deal, i didnt know what that was for, but the drivers seat is over the hump enough that the heater wont fit there...

my hoses are capped off about where yours end there..

i guess i will put it between the seats...

how much heat does this baby put out??

The rear heater in the FJ55 is under the front seat as you can see in the photo Dan posted. The heater for the FJ55 is not the same as that in the 40 series. They are different but I am sure it will work if its all you have.

I have nice working rear heater only thing wrong with it is a little surface rust on the top. I would sell it to you pretty cheap just to get it out of my garage if your interested.

does the motor work?? do you have a pic?? i dont think i have ever seen a 55 heater, i always thought they were the same as a 40....

mainly i just wanna see what they look like, i have searched for a pic of the 55 heaters, but no luck.. all i have found thats different then a 40 heater, is the 25/45 heaters where the tops flip up...

ya it looks different from the blue pic, nice work!

I believe the tubes come out in a different location.

Yeah the only real difference that I know of is the # and location of the feet. Otherwise pretty much the same thing. And yes the motor works I hooked it up. I do have a few pics somewhere I'll have to hunt them down. If you want it pm me your second in line now though someone saw this and beat you to it.
