All,
1-HDT motor, rear heater completely deleted, rear piping and heater core removed. All new rubber hoses up front on the fire wall. Noticed very recently a small engine coolant leak coming from the firewall but it is very tough to see where it is coming from. I have rechecked all the hoses and everything is tight. The leak is very small and doesn’t start right away when I start the engine. Any thoughts? The transmission is in the way but I can see some coolant wetness back behind the engine. Thanks.

Check your heater core or even just the fitting behind the firewall

the brass fittings for the the heater core are easy to bend when removing the hoses. may need to straighten them up. best to perform a pressure test.

Yes, I thought about those as well. One was bent slightly but with some needle nose pliers I re-formed it back into round again. Any chance maybe the connection going into the cabin could have been torn? Not seeing any leaking from the other side. Those brass fittings bend easy.
