So was there a difference in coolant hose routing between early year FJ62s and laters? I have a 1990 and my system looks almost exactly like the picture, but immediately to the right of where the plug is and just below on the lower hardline I have another outlet. And no this isn’t the outlet to the oil cooler. I was replacing my radiator, so while I was at it I decided to delete my rear heater. Now I am kind of stuck and not sure what to do because my system doesn’t look like this.

[update] I am an idiot. Never mind.

Got around to doing the bypass of the rear heater today. Needed 3 hoses and a plug.

I should of saved the part #'s but tossed them on Saturday. What you need is easy to find. The dealer will show you a pic of the optional hose and plug, for use without the the rear heater. You'll need two of those hoses, one plug and one -L- shaped hose.

Thanks for the pic. Quick question, the bottom line running into the firewall is a hardline. Did you cut it to fit on new hose?

I had to cut about an inch off the straight end on the hose to fit it perfect but plainly simple to do.
