Getting ready to find out what's causing the rear ds door not to lock or unlock. Anyone had the same issue? TIA

My front p-side door did the same thing, there is a rod inside the door that connects to the door locking mechanism. It attaches by clipping into a plastic connector. On mine the rod had come out of the connector and just needed to be pushed back in. Super simple fix, but YMMV.

I'll find out more when I remove the panel. Thanks Seth.

It may also be the electric lock motor/mechanism.
Search for electric door locks and you'll find lots of threads to follow.
My rear hatch lock had a cracked part that was easy to fix with a good degreasing and some epoxy.
The hard part is getting there. I've got a set of those red plastic prybars for trim that really help.
Good luck.

Two 80s, same door side, doing the same thing except one make sound the other doesn't. Most likely one is a rod and the other one could be a motor. Thanks blkprj80
