Howdy! I am finally getting around to this on the Piggy. I have had the brackets for years, I think they came from either Poser or Bill Jackson. I have most of the part numbers for rotors, calipers, and soft lines, but I am missing some info. I think there is supposed to be a spacer between the bracket and the axle flange, but I don't know how thick it is supposed to be. Also, I don't know how big to machine out the center hole in the rotors. The Tech Section on MUD is missing all this info. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks, John

The rotor gets machined to slip fit over the axle, so axle flange size plus ~.005"? What is the rotor OD, can likely do it on my lathe?

Haven't picked the rotors up yet. I'll check tomorrow. I think it is around 13-14" I'll have to see if I have a 3 or 4" caliper micrometer at work so I can get a good ID number on the axle. John

i dont know the thickness off hand, but its the same as the backing plates, and really you could make the spacers out of the back plates if you wont be re-using them or selling them to someone,, you could also make them by grinding one side of a washer down flat for each bolt.

we didn't need to grind anything when we did the rear drum conversion on my 40

John do you have the same rear axle as on my 40? I have all the parts to a as-yet-uninstalled rear disk conversion. You're welcome to stop by and do all the measurements etc and even copy the instructions if you want.

Should be the same rear axle housing for 71 and 76. Might be a good idea to compare brackets. I noticed mine is missing two of the caliper mounting holes. I have a 1-1 drawing of the bracket to locate the holes, but it would be nice to use a hard copy. Maybe I can get a pn for the hose. I'm getting a lot of mixed results on locating one. Coming to the meet tomorrow night? If not, maybe you can pm me a good location and time to see it. I work nights, 5pm to 1 am on Sunday thru Thursday nights, so I can come whenever works. John

Rotor OD is just under 12". Will that fit your lathe? Looks like the ID needs to open up over 1/2" John
