I just use the LANDTANK LCAs which remedy the issue by protecting the mount

Cool. I'm hitting the mount pretty hard. The arm itself is safe. I was considering making some small skid plates.

I was looking at exactly this on mine on the weekend. They seem to be something that I often get hung up on.
