Hey fellas, after installing Scheel-Mann Vario seats in my FJ62, I couldn’t be happier with the change in comfort. Unfortunately, these sheets have taken some legroom space out of the already limited rear bench space. Has anyone successfully changed the frame of the rear bench to accommodate a few more inches or replaced the bench altogether? Thanks!

Varios in the rear provides plenty of leg room.

Tell us more about this set up? I would love to have buckets in the rear !!
I used Vario XLs in front and regular Vario’s for the 2nd row. We fabricated a mounting frame out of 1” square stock, powder coated it and used Toby’s sliders.

The sliders allow about 10” fore-aft travel. Usually, the seats are as far forward as possible to give the dogs the most room in the back. The seats are heated, which makes it comfy in the winter. Our kids always use the truck when they come over to ski.

That's pretty awesome. I would really like to have 2 buckets up front and 1 in the rear (other side platform for dogs). This is a really cool set up.

So, I'm going to ask a potentially dumb question, but who is Toby and how do you get his sliders? LOL

While nice.. those seats are >2k$ a piece 🫤

Would love to see some more budget realistic ideas .. there’s gotta be something off the shelf from a salvage yard that will work.

There’s a guy here in Phoenix that sells brand new bucket seats out of mostly vans that get handicapped

^ If the seats have a flat bottom to attach sliders then you're in business. There are a lot of buckets out there, whether salvage or cheaper aftermarket like Summit or even ProCar.

@911nFJ60 - great idea for the 1x frame and sliders. I have been wanting to find a rear seat back with headrests from a 62 (for the kids in back), but I think I'd rather spend time and money on something like this.
