Is this kit decent for conversion of a DD GX?

Amazon product ASIN B004J8W6RY
both bags are torn so its time to convert. Before I pull the trigger just want some feedback on this kit from Amazon.

Is it just coiled metal is coiled metal or are there better options on the market?

Get an Southern Style Offroad kit. comes with shims and all the hardware to do it right.

SSO kit come with a few spacers to correct lean on some vehicle buy also raise the rear at least 3/4"

that is not a complete kit. You need spring seats (SSO or MT) and the rubber spring inserts, along with the springs to do it correctly.

In order to convert the rear to springs, you need 3 things at minimum:

1. Rear springs (not shown)
2. Coil conversion kit (sometimes sold without spring isolators)
3. Spring isolators (these are the Toyota cone shaped spring isolators)

I grabbed this picture from the internet a few years ago to help illustrate what you need in a coil conversion kit.

well crap. I hoped that all I needed were the springs. Hate driving around with this thing acting like a bucking bronco.

thanks for the help. I'll see about ordering the additional stuff I'll need.

The arnott are designed to be used without lower spring locator. I am not sure how it can stay in place. It comes with rubber upper isolator. Pretty expensive for what you got.

My truck comes with strutmaster coil conversion kit. It comes with both rear shocks, lower spring locator plate and upper centering rubber locator. It cost about $400.

Considering you most likey would need new front and rear shock, the cost of properly matched spring, shock and coil conversion kit are not that much more.
