I know it sounds like a joke, but a friend of mine often carries dogs in the back of his T100, but he has a camper for it. It can get hot here in the summer so he was asking me what he could do for an AC in the camper area. I vaguely suggested maybe a larger ALT to run a RV style unit located in the back somewhere, but really I don't know AC worth a crap so do any of you guys have a suggestion?

He is willing to spend a 2 grand or so on it...

Some models of the 80 series and 90 series prado came with rear air con [my 90 has it] and the compressor and evaporator etc are designed to run 2 units.

This would be the best way, to get the required parts from a wrecker somewhere, and mount it up, pipe it, and ready to go.

Look at the amp draw on an RV style unit-that may actually work with an upgraded alternator, would be something interesting anyway. And it would remove with the camper top-making his T100 a normal pickup again without the top.
