Rear ac drain tube? (1 Viewer)

Question: Does the rear ac have its own condensation drain tube? (3rd row)
I did search the forums but found only info about the front extension add on.

I don’t remember for sure, but I am pretty certain that there is a rear drain tube that comes out around the rear fender liner towards the back. I’ll try to do some digging and see where I saw/read it.

Thanks, I havnt had the balls to lay down on the hot asphalt to check myself. I have been using all 3 rows of ac due to the heat wave lately here in SW PA.

IIRC.. you would need top pull back some of the plastics in the ear area of fender to see the drain.

I picked up a spare rear HVAC unit a couple years back and just added to the parts bin...even though these seem to rarely fail but I'll have the servos if they do.

I'll be looking under it later today to see if I can see anything. Just asking because I never see any condensation dripping yet.
There should be so maybe it's clogged up?

I see water drip out of mine on the rear. Admittedly...never tried to pinpoint exact drain location.

Looks like it drips in free space? (not over the frame like the front?) I just extended the front drain line a couple weeks ago and was wondering about this exact thing.

Still no idea as it's 70% humidity and no condensation out back. I did find this but I can't see there being three drain tubes? Oh maybe it's for the cooler under the armrest? I don't have that.......

At least the up-side is, if you need to replace a hose/tube, it's not three or four figure cost! It'll be about as much as a BigMac, fries and drink.

@Pennwestmechanic , what model GX460 do you have? IIRC, the base model does not have 3 zone AC, and no aircon unit in the rear. If you have a base model, that may be why you don't see any condensation from the rear drain.

Thats not fully accurate. I have a 2015 Base with 3rd row HVAC and the aux cooling fan. It was part of a cold weather package in the Midwest for a few years.

The aux fan is a give away as is the third row climate control accessible through touch screens.

I don’t believe this combo was ever sold in US or Canada but an example of rear climate without rear heated seat switches.

I do not have the base so I believe it's the premium with power folding third row seats and heated 2nd row seats.
I have 3 zone climate control. See my 8th post up top and you can see the ac lines just nobody knows where the drain tube is located.

The black hose on the left appears to be the drain because the ones on the right for the heater core

If that was stood up that would be orientation of unit if I was looking in from rear of vehicle.

Found it! Apparently it just drains into the cavity and then come out the rubber one way valve. Best way to keep water from back flowing in?
Fwd is to the left
