If I had read this 2 hours ago, I would not have ordered the bearings. Darn.

You still did the right thing.

Your case was run out of oil. Do you know those bearings are still in spec? they don't get much load, but then they don't have much surface either. $80 or whatever it is is nothing in the grand scheme here.

I don't know but they sure did look fine. And it doesn't matter now because I'm going to be installing the new ones.

Thanks for the help.

One last bearing question.

My MAF kit also did not come with the transmission output bearing. I think this is what its called. Its the bearing that goes on the output shaft of the transmission b.

Should have I gotten this bearing in the kit? Or do I need to order it separately?

# on bearing is DG3580A, but I cannot find listed or on the diagram at toyodiy.com

The tranny output/ transfer input bearing comes in the kit. It's one of the two open ball bearings (other one is for frt output)

NEW PROBLEM.

I installed the rear output shaft bearing and after I got on to the shaft in the right position, I thought the bearing felt kind of funny. It had more play than I thought it should.. and after wiggling it around the bearing separated and all the little balls came out.

So whats the deal with this?

After the I got the inner race off the shaft which was still pressed on, I was able to put the bearing back together and I compared it to the old bearing I took off and they are definitely different. (Same koyo #3037) The new bearing inner race has a significantly smaller diameter and so the bearing keeps falling apart. Not good.

I'm fed up with this man-a-fre kit. Before this problem, I ended up having to order another bearing from toyota last thursday because they left it out of my kit and would have taken 2 weeks to get one to me. Also, when I got the kit, the the seal that goes in between the two halfs of the case was ripped and took them 2 and a half weeks to get me another.

Tell me what is wrong with this bearing please..It does not seem normal. Did I just get a defective one?

I need to put this thing back together!!
