Driving up to Sedona today, pulled over waiting for another vehicle and went to take off. Dead pedal, and it was dieseling, finally died, no codes. Finally restated after several attempts & made it another 50 miles or so before it did it again. Had to be towed last mile to camp. Looking for ideas on where to start...

on the 94?

No, the 2006. I also have had intermittent code p0430 in the last 3k miles, cleared it and no other problems. It did throw same code earlier today too.

Might be premature, but I can shuttle parts to you early in the am from the auto parts stores in Flag, or the dealership. We are headed down for the Casner run. Plan on leaving Flagstaff by 815am.

Thanks for the offer, I'm not gonna worry about it too much tonight. Will try and meet you guys tomorrow at the show up

P0430 is normally an O2 sensor/cat thing. But I am wondering if you have TPS or APPS issues? Or maybe the engine's not getting enough air? Did you suck up a rat or something?

Once restarted how did it run until died again?
Thinking out loud - A 430 code does not seem to relate with a dead pedal and dieseling????

P0430 is "Catalyst system effeminacy below threshold - bank #2

Whatever that means.

Unscrew gas cap, lots of air rush sound?

Sorry guys, very spotty cell service here. Yes it ran fine after the first time it acted up until another 50 miles or so when it did it again. I started it this morning and let it idle for 30 min, no issues at all. I did replace the bank 2 post cat o2 sensor this morning also. Test drove 20 miles or so without problems. Hopefully we can get home without any more problems. I really don't think it's just a bad o2 sensor though.

Did that the first time it died, no vacuum sound when I removed gas cap.

Well we made it about 50 miles towards home before we had any issues...

Stuttered and we coasted to a pull off, immediately shut it off and fired it back up, drove another 20 miles or so to Payson, stopped & had lunch and continued another 30 miles before it died again. At that point I had enough and called a friend with a trailer to come pick me up.

The only consistent problem I saw was it always seemed to act up when I was coasting or just getting back on the gas...

I'm gonna plug in to pc tomorrow and have a look, still no codes so I guess I will look for testing procedures for the tps/apps because that's my best guess at this point.

Could be...isn't very common though is it?

I did listen for the pump the first time and couldn't hear it running when it wouldn't fire. :crybaby:
