We are out of town for a few days. Come out of the restaurant and truck won't start. Not a battery problem. Plenty of juice. No corrosion. Cranks over great. Just won't fire. Going to check and make sure I have fuel. Any ideas beyond that?

Another something to try is hold throttle to floor. I think some rig have something going on with the throttle position sensor.

Well we got it towed back to the place we are staying. I think it's the fuel pump. There is no fuel at the filter. We checked with a test light and there is power when I turn the key on back to where the fuel pump plugs in by the frame. I will check with the local Napa tomorrow to see if they have a pump. And go from there I guess.

I read the first couple pages of that link. Thank you by the way. I'm not sure that's my problem. Could it though have something to do with not sending the right amount of voltage to the fuel pump and therefore the pump doesn't turn on? Cause I've had what seems to be funny business coming from the fuse block before. It has been a while though.

So I'm pretty sure @reznunt is right about my issue as the jump wire got the truck to start. Although it ran poorly. Thank you again. Now I just need to figure out how to make the oem relay work so I can get home.

Replacing the fuse with a larger one didn't work. The jumper wire made it run but terrible. Not sure it would keep running even to get me to the parts store so I'm currently walking there. First thing I will try is a larger wire. Should I go direct from battery or from the fuse location?

Well I rigged up the relay the way they did in the immobilizer thread and same thing as before. Runs terrible and then dies. All contacts seem to be solid and everything is done with 12 gauge wire. Not sure what to do. Maybe I will test my relay. But it ran terrible without the relay too. IDK. Anyone have an idea?

You can check if you're getting fuel up front at the filter, rules out the pump. Check the blinky security light, see if something happened there with the immobilizer chip. Out of town to a huge elevation change? Could be something with the charcoal canister and filling up.

I'm assuming the pump is working as I'm getting fuel enough for it to start. The Blinky light does go out when I turn the truck on now. It seems odd that I would have a fuel pump problem at the same time as the fuse box issue flared up bad. As soon as I started messing with the immobilizer issue the truck fired right up. Just won't stay running. Is the fuel pump going out fairly common? 145,000 on the truck.

The guy that helped me tow it back to the house we are staying said the fuel filter seemed like it needed replaced. Maybe taking it off and messing with it has caused it to get plugged even worse? Can't get a new one up here in the mountains until Tuesday morning.

I did fill it up about 30 miles previous to all this but it ran fine up until it wouldn't start. I filled up at a nice shell station with premium as always.

Mine was the ignition relay. Went from never having an issue to all the sudden wouldn't turn over one afternoon. Pulled the ignition relay, gave a quick brush/clean of the contacts, put it back in, started perfectly and have never had a problem since.

I just cleaned the throttle body about a month ago. Truck turns over great so I don't think it's the ignition relay.

That's what I meant, it would crank but not actually fire up. Removing and reinstalling the ignition relay fixed it.

Well I got it. Running great now. The immobilizer fix worked. The problem was I had forgotten to reconnect the air intake hose where it goes into the throttle body. What an idiot. Sometimes it's the simplest thing. Got the hose hooked back up and she runs like a champ again. Now I have to decide whether to buy a new fuse box or live with the fix. I've never been a fan of Jerry rigging stuff on a permanent basis but the fuse box sounds pretty spendy. So........

Oh and before I forget. Thank you to ih8mud and everyone that helped me out here. If you were here I'd by you all a round but I guess this will have to do. The guy that helped me tow my truck back to our 3 day home last night was a mechanic for 30 years. He was pretty sure it was the fuel pump. Obviously he didn't have much in the way of testing equipment but still I think I'd rather have ih8mud available then a mechanic around. Seriously though @reznunt or @medtro if either one of you ever gets near the Boise are I will meet up with you and buy you a beer or 6.
