In the middle of doing my timing belt and want to confirm what I think is correct. When the LH and RH cam match the long casting line marks (not the "T" but long line marks) and the crank is at "0" mark, that means the engine is at TDC, correct? Another question...mine is a 2000 and manual says to go clockwise rotate crank dampener 50 degrees beyond TDC. Other posts say to align the crank dampener up to the plastic post/protrusion on the timing cover (that post/protrusion is 15-20 degrees before the 50 degree mark) when I have the cam marks align with the big T casted into the cover. Which is correct?

When I did my timing belt I did just that. Set the crank to the plastic post on the lower timing cover. When I got everything removed my L and R were sitting on the T’s. I rotated around and yes when you are at 0 you should be on the long casting marks. The cams will easily jump though. Good luck!
