Okay, so here's the latest....the snow has melted enough for me to maneuver around the truck, so I climbed underneath yesterday and drained the oil.....
5-6 quarts. I had added 2 when I discovered the dipstick dry, so it had been running on 3 or 4 quarts when it died.
I got out my hand crank from the FJ55 and tried rotating the engine. I actually was standing on the handle and it still would not go around. I even put the crank on my '78 to see how easy/hard it was to turn and it was pretty easy....no doing on the plow truck, though.
I ran out of time before I could drain the radiator to see if there was oil in the coolant. I might be able to do that tonight....
So anyway, I pulled off all the plow bracketry and got it ready to be towed to TLC - they've prepped the engine I won on eBay and will be doing the swap for me. Then, as time and money permits, I'll pull the old engine apart to see what happened and rebuild it.
