When you are applying - Are you dying the whole seat or just those areas? I would rather not do all the seats in the car as only a small patch on the driver side needs attention.

you can do either. I wouldn't do less than a whole panel.

Showing some signs of wear on the thigh bolster drivers side but otherwise perfect. I did a crap job applying, did not allow proper time between coats and did not prep the surface very well at all. I also did not use the clear coat they recommend for high use areas. Pretty amazed at how well it’s holding up.
I just ordered the dye and griot cleaner. I have 2013 with same interior color. When you say you did not allow enough time between coats, how much time would you suggest? And do you have to scrub like like or gentle massage it into the leather. Any tips would be appreciated. My seats look exactly like your did previous to your treatment. Best applied at room temperature? Warmer? THX!

I was inspired by this post. Just wanted to share my before and after. 5-6 coats of dye and a few coats of the top coat really brought back my drivers side bolster.

Looks great!! I need to redo my drivers side bolster and use the top coat. The rest of my interior still looks show room fresh after recoating but I am really hard on the drivers side bolster and its starting to show some wear again. Still a million times better than it was before recoating, but now I want everything looking perfect after seeing how nice it was freshly redone haha. Curious to hear how yours holds up with the top coat!

Thank you! You were the inspo! It definitely feels slicker with the top coat on. I’m only really worried about some of the heavier jeans I have… that will be a real test. For now, the dye and topcoat feel very much apart of the original leather. Time will tell though.

Yeah, that seems to be the real source of wear and tear here. I wear some Duluth, Kuhl and other "jeans" that are more like a rough canvas kind of material when I am out and about in the winter and its like rubbing sandpaper with 200lbs of force right over that seat bolster. My previous 2008 Trail Team Fj the bolster looked brand new after a decade of wear because I was single. Now I'm a Dad, I'm too damn tired and I just drag my ass right over that bolster with no regard 😂

Right there with ya. Two boys don’t make it easy

Similarity was wondering if anyone here has found a good match for the lx570 grey color? I agree these results are inspiring.

Oof! That doesn't look good at all. I dyed my tan seats on my 09 LC, and the results are terrific. I'm now unsure about the black...

I did mine… looked like crap.

Seems a bit glossier of a paint/dye than oem. I heard the Lexus grey is pretty hard to match but would have assumed that black would be easier, guess not. Still looks better than the huge holes in my seats!

This is truly inspiring. I have my 2005 bolsters also showing sign of cracks and wear. Could someone post links to the sites where they sell the undercoat and the topcoat? Does removing cracks require a redye or just a base and top coat?
