Anyone been to Rausch Creek? Any tips?

Trail to hit and those to avoid would be great info. Planning on attempting the three Jeep Badge of Honor Trails at least.

^^ what he said. Maprika app has trail maps you can load.

Been plenty of times. All types of trails, depending on what you are capable of.
Awesome, good to have someone with lots experience there! Stock LX570 on 35s. Not afraid of banging up the stock steps as I will be getting sliders on soon, but trying to avoid body damage beyond maybe some small dents and pinstriping as it’s already well pinstriped. On stocks skids for now too unfortunately. I watched some videos of Crawl Daddy and think I should be alright if I take my time, some safer lines and exercise caution.

I will look into this now. Thank you!

In doing some research I found the picture below on here. Seems like a good route, but not sure the LX will fair on these trails. I’ll check Maprika to see if it can help me understand how I’ll do on them. The mention of flopping old girl gives me some pause to say the least.

When are you heading up? My son and I went up this past fall when he still had his Taco. He was 2"+ lift on 33's and my 80 is 2" lift on 35's. We had a blast...stuck to the "easier" trails, but definitely had to be careful down a skinny winding path near the power lines. Maprika does work well there as there's good cell service, so it'll follow you throughout.

Would love to go back again soon...had some hardcore Jeep guys there that loved the 80. Way back in the trails, they saw me and warned of some skinny paths to avoid getting too many pinstripes, but did just fine with a white truck. Lots of trails there that you can't finish in a day, we stayed on one side where the check in house is and had a blast.

I think this was on crawl daddy back in 2013. Damn, 10 years ago.

Heading up Friday and staying through Sunday. Probably do some of the lighter, easier trails first then the harder ones Saturday.

Great info on cell service and Maprika! Careful from rocks or mud?

Beautiful trucks. Have to love the 80! That is one of the benefits to lighter colors. The silver hides them well until you get up close.

Nice, should be a great weekend to head up. The trail that I had to watch out on was a narrow, winding descent wth good size rocks and trees. That said, if you are going for what @CondeCruiser handled, it won't be a problem for you!

And thanks, I love the 80, my first cruiser and I'm just getting used to all that it can really do. Anxious to get out this season to push it a bit, but not bang it up too much.

Quick note on Rausch Creek and AOAA, I think that both require a "group" of at least 2 vehicles to trail together. By your posts, it seems as if you are heading up alone, but I'd hate for you to get there and not get in because you are by yourself. Just an FYI, if you know this, please disregard....

You are correct, this is the rule at both locations.

Check out the Keystone clubhouse here on MUD; that's home base for some of them. Maybe post up the dates you're going. Might be able to find a local who can go with you.
Will do, great suggestion!

I hope so and appreciate the heads up! I’ll keep you posted but will be looking to get out even if Peter’s Mill, Pott’s, Broad Run and other more local stuff. Congratulations again, beautiful truck!

I appreciate the heads up! I actually didn’t know this so it’s very good to know. Fortunately heading up with a friend. Does this apply even for those equipped with a winch?

Yes. They want people to be more than self sufficient. You'll probably find other trucks staging in the parking lot that will be fine with you tagging along, if you wait long enough for the buggies to clear out. Even with a friend's truck coming, it'll be good to ride with other folks...but be aware that not everyone will willingly sign on to having a fat 200 in their group.

That’s makes sense to want people more than self sufficient and to not be stuck wondering around in the woods should things go wrong.

Interesting and good to know some folks’ perspective before getting out there. Why would having a fat 200 make a difference? More time trying doing 3 point turns to fit through tighter spaces or switchbacks?

Lots of heepers that don't know what it is and will think it's gonna slow them down

Funny and so true. I was up there a few years ago in my 200 doing a class. I was probably the only Toyota in 2 groups of 40+ Jeeps, definitely the only 200.

BTW - I've never had any damage on Rausch or AOAA when sticking to blues and greens, unlike the Cove. Helps to have someone spot the whale on some sections

I would join you this weekend if I had not burned my hall pass this past long weekend.

You will have a great time.

The lady at the office said, “you said you’re with a Lexus, so you probably want to stick to the Greens and keep it easy”. Well he’s on 35s and she was shocked lmao.

I imagine that a class would be awesome up here. I wish you could have joined! Today was a lot of fun.

We hit K to B to Pole Line To Cralwers Ridge back to Pole Line to B to C Blue to K.

The route up to Crawler’s was somewhat tough. Definitely tougher than Crawler’s Ridge although I took the tougher line.
