So i have this rattling sound that i get once the truck is warm and i give it gas....say if i am on the highway going 60 and i have this rattling sound as soon as i remove my foot from the gas it goes away. Could this be a Catylic converter going bad? I am also have some loping while idling at a stop. Could a cat give you those type of symptoms?

But why would it go away when i let off the gas?

vavle rattle? where is the rattle coming from?

I know its not my valves...it did a valve job about 8 months ago and that's more of a ticking. this sound is coming from underneath me or in front of me. I know about the heat shield issue around the cat but didn't think about the one around my manifold.

didn't think of that but I didn't think they rattled when going bad. I know I am getting terrible mileage (worse then normal).

but wouldn't that rattle at idle as well if that was the case?

yes

I can't find where a Fj62 has a heat riser.

could that be why when my truck is warm that I hear that rattling?

Notice any vibrations along with the rattling noise?

I was thinking of the stock dual down tubes.
:DOH ok. Well the asshat that did my exhaust forgot ONE MAJOR thing when he did mine. He did not put lockwasher on the flanges and when it heated up the dam thing started rattling(not leaking yet) but rattling. Drove me nuts.
